Step Into the Light Stranger
If you love stories and weird informative perspectives, you’ve come to the right place.
My name is Jessica, and the Stranger wRites is where I share my written works, fiction and non-fiction.
Here you will find stories and mind-altering perspectives on thoughts and experiences that will entertain but perhaps also to make you go “Huh,”
So join in on my written ritual.
Why Stranger wRites?
I wanted to name the newsletter something I would find interesting and relevant to me as an individual.
My last name Frayne has several meanings but the most interesting are ‘dweller by the ash tree’, ‘stranger’ and ‘foreigner’. As my life has unfolded I’ve felt more and more connected to this name.
Often I feel like a stranger in the world.
In addition, the symbology of the ash tree from both my namesake and my birth tree (if you like such things) is just freaking awesome. Yggdrasil in Norse mythology is cosmic ash, and the Ash tree is associated with magic and protection across Celtic cultures. Honestly, what’s not to like?
Who are you?
A witch never reveals their secrets! Good thing I am not a witch then… or am I?
My professional background is in manufacturing and electrical engineering technology. In my free time, I study a history degree part-time, attempting to minor in Japanese and Social Anthropology. My hobbies are rock climbing and most things outdoorsy. I try to travel whenever I can and find myself on many unexpected side quests.
